The ndd Medical Spirometer

This is the most accurate spirometer available! Based on ultrasound technology.

The ndd Medical Spirometer is a single breath DLCO device allowing physicians to provide their patients with prompt, accurate diagnosis and treatment. It performs PFTs in less than 30 minutes all in one square foot. Some of the many features include:

•  Single Breath CO diffusion (DLCO)
•  Spirometry
•  Automatic calibration
•  Flexible EMR capabilities
•  No warm-up time
•  Challenge testing

Crowell Systems has successfully integrated the ndd Spirometer into its MedFormix® Vue EMR and Patient Management software.  With a few clicks, patient readings can be reviewed and recorded into their medical records. With new integration, MedFormix Vue continues its goal to be the best EMR available in the industry. For More information, visit our Website www.Medformixvue.com.

SPIROMETRY

We know how

crucial it is to have an

antigen lab which

provides staff with the

right tools and inform-

ation to create the

precise antigen for

every patient. Extract

review is quick and

easy. Through the

building of the Vaccine Master, to the ordering and mixing of the vials, to automatically printing color-coded vial labels and billing the patient directly,  Medformix® always surpasses expectations.

In addition, our allergy doctors have immediate access to insurance benefit inquiries and electronic remittance advice (ERA's). Our systems are designed for speed and accuracy, allowing physicians and their staff to see more patients.

We listen to our allergy doctors because they know exactly what they want and need in a system. We follow their suggestions and guidance to enhance and add new features to Medformix®. And we provide new version upgrades to their systems, incorporating many of these ideas, regularly and at no additional cost.

Crowell Systems was the first company in America to design a completely integrated practice management and EHR software program uniquely designed for allergy practices.  Medformix®  is still the standard for the doctor who needs a very fast, easy-to-use, tightly integrated software solution, including:

    •  Practice Management
    •  Electronic Health Records with e-prescribing
    •  Immunotherapy
    •  Antigen Lab
    •  Document management
    •  Billing / insurance filing and control

IMMUNOTHERAPY
Medformix®'s Immunotherapy module is unique in that it integrates all elements of this process in a logical efficient manner. If an office so chooses, a patient coming to the office for a shot simply swipes his/her ID card under the barcode scanner in the waiting room and is automatically placed on the injection  list. Other offices may make use of a sign-in sheet for immunotherapy; the choice is yours. As the nurse calls a patient into the injection room, she accesses a screen which provides information about each of the injections the patient is due. After selecting the proper injection, the nurse has at hand all the information needed to complete the process. The Immunotherapy injection is automatically charged to the patient's account and his/her chart is updated. After the patient waits for the specified time, the injection site is rechecked and any reaction is noted in the system. No confusion about dosages, no extra busywork for the staff in the injection room and no missed or incorrect charges!

We now have barcodes on the vials.  An option for the doctor to choose is to have the nurse scan the barcode on the vial prior to drawing the medicine; this is a hard check that the patient is receiving the exact medicine that has been prepared for him.

Another good feature is the way that the nurses can ask for a refill of a vial; this automatically will update a file in the antigen lab.  It is especially helpful when there are multiple clinics involved with one central lab.  The vials are coded so that the person who is making the extract knows which tubby to put them in so that when the person who travels to the correct satellite.

Once the Extract has been prepared, it is ready to be administered to the patient.  The practice has the choice of using a barcode to swipe the barcode ID on the vial to ensure that the nurse has the correct vial for that specific patient, or using the patient’s picture as another means of identification.   We recommend that the nurse always matches the information on the vial label to verify that the vial and the patient match.

All of the information that the nurse needs displays on her screen: the name of the formulary, dilution, dosage, history of last injection. Once everything is in order, the nurse may proceed with administering the injection.

ANTIGEN LAB
As a company that has worked with allergy doctors for almost 25 years, we know how crucial it is to have an antigen lab which provides staff with the right tools and information to create the precise antigen for every patient. Extract review is quick and easy. Through the building of the Vaccine Master, to the ordering and mixing of the vials, to automatically printing color-coded vial labels and billing the patient directly,  Medformix® always surpasses expectations.

The formulary feeds into the Antigen Lab so that the mixer can create the vials for the patient.  At that time, the system automatically bills the patient’s account, prints and applies a multi-part barcoded label that is water and alcohol proof.  On it are the instructions for mixing the formulary.

ALLERGY MEDICAL CHART

The chart allergists require is more encompassing than a generic chart that other types of doctors may use.  This is due to the complexity and special testing that they require in order to complete their evaluations of their patients in order to determine the correct diagnosis, treatment plan as well as create the formulary for immunizing them against the specific allergens to which they are allergic.

•  Provides patients with a bar-coded ID so they can sign in for

their injections and enables shot room nurses to use a roster

   of patients waiting for shots
•  Displays information about last shot
•  Allows nurse to review complete history of patient injections
•  Adjusts dilution and dosage for injection if patient is compliant
•  Charges patients for shots automatically

SKIN TESTS
In Medformix®, doctors can set up the specific allergens native to their local environment with the concentrations associated to each one.  Then, each practice can create Skin Test Panels to expedite the application of the tests as well as ensure standardized application. During the evaluation of the patient, the doctor can order the panel(s) to be tested so that the nurses know what to apply on the patients. When the results are entered into the system, charges are automatically applied to the patient's account.

VACCINE MASTER
The results of the skin tests display in the Vaccine Master so that the doctor can write the formulary.  In addition, this module sets up the dilution and dosage schedule, days between injections and other pertinent information.
